Girl saves her 6-year-old brother by transplanting him her own umbilical cord stem cells.

A 6 year old boy was discharged from a hospital in Seville, after receiving a stem cell transplant from the umbilical cord of his sister. This procedure was carried out as a treatment for the bone marrow failure the child was suffering. Besides him, in Spain there have been two other successful cases, in which siblings have been able to cure diseases like beta thalassemia major and adrenoleukodystrophy.
